Welcome to Hazel Anne! I'm thrilled that you are here to take a peek into my world.

I'm Anne Mettee, the owner, designer and sewer for Hazel Anne Design, a lovely, lively clothing company for women and girls. I have been making clothing ever since my mom taught me to use my grandmother's old black Singer in 7th grade. It sewed forward and backwards, and sat in our hallway where I made skirt after skirt to wear to school. When I had my three children, I began scaling down my hand drafted patterns to make wild little outfits for them, their friends, and their friend's moms. And so a passion for cloth and color turned into a lovely, lively little business. I am inspired by so much, from the easy styles of the 1920s, to modern tennis skirts, and on up to the grace and artistry of haute couture . I put high-end fabrics together in surprising combinations to bring whimsy and solid construction together in a garment that will bring years of joy and pride to the wearer.
